A 20 page paper arguing that integration of the races has improved the quality of the game and positively contributed to the professional development of baseball. The paper looks at conditions immediately following Jackie Robinson's debut with the Dodgers and the firsts achieved by Larry Doby, Henry Thompson, Willard Brown, Buck O'Neil and Ken Williams and others, concluding that observed changes could not have occurred without the influence of these and other African Americans.
