Environmental Policy of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)

This 12 page report discusses NAFTA and explains that Republican President George Bush completed NAFTA negotiations with Mexico in September 1992 and enthusiastically promoted the treaty during the campaign. Democratic challenger Bill Clinton took only a lukewarm position toward NAFTA, but two days after he was elected president, Clinton came out in favor of NAFTA and went on to promote its approval and ratification. Ethics and accountability are two principles that "everyone" affected by public administration wants their public administrators to operate by, yet strangely enough both seem to be difficult to define. Operating from the perspective of a good steward of public resources ensures that public administration operates within the understanding of a strong ethical foundation, and that those serving are fully accountable to those trusting their service.
