A Proposal for Evaluating Alternative Forms of Pain Management in Child Birth

An 8 page contention that there is a considerable need forinvestigation into alternative forms of pain management in labor and delivery. The institutional concentration for pain management has been on the utilization of various drugs. In reality, pain management in labor delivery can include not only pharmacological approaches but also
behavioral approaches such as the use of breathing exercises, imaging techniques, biofeedback, meditation, and distraction techniques such as the
use of music. The author outlines the steps necessary to scientifically investigate the effectiveness of music therapy in this environment.

A Proposed Research Study To Investigate the Effect of Music in Postoperative Pain Management

An 8 page proposal for a research study designed to evaluate the effect of music in pain reduction in elderly patients. This paper asserts that physiologic, pathophysiologic, and psychosocial patient variables influence patient recovery and stresses that nurses and other medical personnel need to make provisions for each of these variables both before and after surgery. The author contends that music in the postoperative environment could be tremendously effective in meeting the goal of pain reduction. A Proposed Study to Evaluate the Impact of Vegetarianism on Blood Sugar Level

A 12 page proposal to evaluate the effect of a vegetarian lifestyle on blood sugar levels. The study is designed to assess individual's current approach to blood sugar levels, approaches that may or may not include medications and that may or may not include a vegetarian diet.
