Israel During King David's Reign

A 12 page research essay that investigates the rise of David from a humble sheepherder to the King of Israel and the conditions of the nation of Israel from David's birth through his reign as king. Within the context of the investigation are the surrounding events of David's life, his time with Saul, his victories over other regions as king and the possible reasons God chose David to become King of all Israel. The Israelites had begun drifting from God and God's laws when David was born; they asked for a king and chose Saul. How David rose to the throne and overcame his many obstacles is discussed in this essay. Bibliography lists 7 sources.

It could be argued that the differences in cultures that is seen in Israel is not different from those seen in the urban areas of the United States.
