World War II: Conditions at Home
[ send me this paper ]
A 5 page paper discussing women at home, economics at home and the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. The war provided the
economic impetus needed to pull the country out of the Great Depression that simply would not
release its grip despite the millions poured into programs intended to stimulate the economy.
Barter had become a substitute for currency, of which few had enough. The beginning of America's involvement in the war changed all that, and the economy grew enough during the war years that the growth was sustainable after the stimulus of the war no longer was present. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
