US companies investing in India must remember that they essentially are guests in the country, and as such, owe it to their hosts to make concessions to India's old traditions without necessarily embracing them. Survival of the Zoroastrians of India
[ send me this paper ]
This 12 page report
discusses the Zoroastrians of India (also known as the Paris or
Parsees), who fled from Persia in the Middle Ages to protect
their beliefs from the spread of Islam. The founder of their
religion was the prophet Zoroaster (Zarathushtra). The increasing
complexities of modern society have also deeply affected the
Zoroastrians, who like most deeply religious groups that exist
outside of the mainstream of life, have been susceptible to the
overpowering and transformative power of modern life.
